Just bought this a month ago for about $100 more. It's gorgeous. Everything about it is top notch.

Except for that it's not top notch. That would be Pioneer's Kuro line with Panasonic's plasmas coming in next.

Agreed #2, Samsung < Panasonic < Pioneer (Kuro)

I'm in love w/ my Sammy 50" plasma (older 5084 model). IMHO, Sammy's are the best bang for your buck. You can spend $1100 on this, or $3500 for the Kuro. Remember kids, this is Ben's Bargains, not Snooty Expensive Vidoephile bacon.

Just FYI, according to the latest data, Panasonic dominates the full HD (1080p) plasma market with higher percentage of its total plasma productions in full HD sets, while Samsung & LG have lower percentages of their productions in full HD. Plasma came to full HD later than LCD, and it seems Panasonic ramped up those quicker than the others in this field.

Gosh should have got this TV than my Sony. After 2 years, I might have to change the LCD panel.
