How useful are these sleeves? I doubt they provide any real impact protection so aren't they essentially just dust/scratch protection? Don't get me wrong, I have a zippered "sleeve" for my portable hard drive, but that goes it pockets and such. I use a padded laptop specific backpack to transport my laptop around and just can't think of a time when this "sleeve" would get used. Wow, this is a long post about sleeves!

I guess a sleeve is to protect your netbook when it's in another carrying case with other stuff, but I opted to get a case like a briefcase for mine.

I have a laptop backpack but sometimes I dont want to take it so I take my sleeve only.
