I got one of these refurbished for my parents 2 years ago for Christmas (just over $1000 at the time) and it's still doing a great job for them. They love it. Highly recommended for first-time Mac users. Great price point.

Yes, but somehow, I don't think it makes sense to compare Apples with ... PC's. You simply don't get the same experience. Unless you just want to run Windows on your Apple... then that probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense economically.
