#2 I'm in IL...I figure it's the same or worse in CA. You wouldn't happen to be in a state with no sales tax? Or with none of those annoying mall Dell kiosks?

I couldn't get away from taxes buying through Dell in my state either (9.5% in CA) . But doesn't Dell have retail outlets in almost every state nowadays? Bummer is that I get stuck with taxes with the Egg too; Amazon/B&H/Crutchfield is the way to go for me on most things. For large ticket luxury items, 9.5% can make or break the deal.

HOWEVER, having said that, this is a very good deal for this TV, without or without taxes.

You can't factor in tax, you've got to pay it anyway.

Tv vs. Tv... how does this compare to the Vizio XVT SV471XVT 47" 240Hz 1080p LCD HDTV $1019 deal

Oregon. We pay other taxes. But I agree with #5....tax really shouldn't be a consideration unless you don't buy anything at all....if that's the case, find another forum to troll.

    Got it at the $1099.00
Now it has just a $500.00 off for $1299.00

Paid taxes (no way around that here) but no enviro fee.

Better than the refurb I almost bought this morning.

You only have to pay tax if your state has dell facilities/stores in it or if your stat's department of revenue decides to audit you.
