This is a excellent price. I bought one of these in January for more than 300 bucks. The lens ranges from 25 to 125mm, and is pretty sharp. The HD (1280 x 720) videos are decent, although the sound is not as good as most Canon point-n-shoots.

But this is an all-around good camera. It's so small you can easily slip it into a shirt pocket. But it has a rubberized coating on it, so it won't slip out of your hands.

I always have mine with me for when I want to grab a shot or a video (like last week in the NYC subway!)

I like the Pentax S12 better. CCD size is 1/1.7" compared with Panasonic's 1/2.33". It's even thinner, with a lower price.

#2 The S12 is 3x optical, no HD Video, 38mm wide angle instead of 25mm which is night and day. They are not even close to being similar cameras other than size.
