Because they are probably the best headphones in under $100 range. - In terms of sound quality and comfort. S - Amazon has them for $31

I had a pair back in the day. But I can't do all that hardware on my head now. Makes me feel like I have on head gear for braces or something.

I had a pair of these 20 years ago? 1989? wow! I'm getting old.
These had amazing sound for the price back then, I think I paid about the same back then too.
"IF" they are the same as they were 20 years ago then they rock!

Correction - they're the #1 headphone for under $50. There are many headphones in the $50-100 range that are better than this, including the Grados SR60 and Sony MDR-V6, although these are less portable

How do these compare (quality/price) to the Sennheiser HD201's for $20?

These are great, I've had mine for about 5 years and they're still going strong. The only thing is that you'll need to replace the foam pieces... and I'm not sure where to get the 'temple' foam.
