    Shows up as $589 for me. Also, includes a 5400RPM HD at that price. 7200RPM is $16 more.

    EDIT: of course if you add the $50 stackable coupon that ben fails to include in his original post, then you reach $539. Sigh.

    Why does it seem impossible to configure a laptop with a high resolution (1680x1050 or higher) display lately?

    #2 the closest that comes to mind is the Sony Z series with 1600x900 13.1" screen but it's very expensive. It irritates me to see a powerful 15-16" notebook paired with a 1366x768 screen as the only option, or a notebook with a great spec and high res screen but only paired with weak integrated graphic

    1366x768 is the cheapo screens that just about every manufacture is putting on their 15-16" laptops. It's annoying but if you want anything better you have to pay through the nose.
