One distinct advantage of this Panasonic HD point-n-shoot is the ability to optically zoom while recording video, a capability that most Canon point-n-shoots don't have (including the direct competitor to this camera, the Canon Powershot SX200).

This is good price for this particular camera but it's been at this price for at least a week now. I was considering this one until I went to the store and pick it up to feel the size and thing. Well balanced, i should say, but it won't fit my pocket and I am looking more for a go-with-me-all-day rather than a SLR sub. The zoom range is awesome, picture quality is great, and the video mode is killer. highly recommended if you are going for a powerful P&S.

They're selling these at Costco for $299 -- which includes a leather case and a generic 2GB SD card.

Still a good deal for this camera, but I wish it was still $266...I'm hoping that this will become a Black Friday deal.

I'm with 007Slice. Hope it's a BF deal and at Costco to be honest. Great policies at that store. The only downside seems to be when zooming in and out during video as it has trouble focusing. I had the DMC-TZ3 and really liked it until it came off my tripod and bounced of a rock. Small ding to lens ring but it won't open now and it costs more to fix than replace.

Nice camera, will wait for the next price drop tho.
