What do you guys think of this Samsung package?

I have never had a Mini book before, but I have been told before they are slow.

Do they run Word/Internet apps OK?

    Thanks

Walk slowly, meander, sloth crawl is more like what you can expect from a netbook. If you need a laptop buy one and avoid these "hot items". You'd be amazed at what you can get for a mere $100.00 more.

They are not a sloth crawl. A couple of years ago these are the specs notebooks had. I can do dvd deencrypting on mine. I am actually amazed at how fast that it is after all the negative comments on here. Go to eeeuser.com to see what can be achieved.

anyone who does not understand the basic concept of a netbook should not buy one, or anyone who has less then a basic understand of computer tech for that matter.

Even a couple of years ago, the typical CPU chip on a laptop was Pentium M, which was admittedly much more time consuming but also much faster than an Intel Atom.
Intel Atom is slower than Celeron, so expect little more than web surfing, emailing, and at the most word processing.

don't buy a netbook and think you can run 10 apps at a time smoothly or play games on it. netbooks are limited in processing power which means if you stick with using it to only go online, you'll be fine. it should NOT replace your primary computer.
