What if my TV is only a standard HD TV? Will I need a special converter box to downscale a signal that passes through these super high resolution cables to get it back to 1080p?

this is pretty cheap, but i doubt they are good

I bought a 3 pack of these and have had zero problems. They're version 1.3, so the only issues you'll likely have with a 6' cable are interference, like #1 suggested. I've never experienced any, but a little clever rerouting of your cables should fix the problem. Or you could buy $100 Monster cables.
