This is more for children than adults, I am sure, at $8.

I ordered these last year to take to the Preakness. I thought that it would a good "throw away" tool to see the race. Bad idea. The product shipped from overseas and arrived after approximately 21 days. The product was a complete piece of junk - already coming apart and impossible to focus. I immediately threw them in the trash. I paid $7.00.

Anyone recommend a good set for children between 7 and 12? I don't want junk but nothing too expensive either.

I like the Brunton Echo Pocket Scope monocular for being decent, cheap and small. $15 if you shop around. Near focus is about a foot, so in a pinch it can be used as a magnifier too.
