#2, agreed. Most of the times these are $100. Sometimes they are given away for free with large purchases. Look elsewhere folks.

#1: She's only going to feel the first 6 inches anyway and besides, it's the girth that really matters.

Try the Sony Sa-W3000 for cheap 12" sub thrills. I liked it better than the Polk and several others. From $125 to $145 with shipping.
