I got one of these a while back, when had digital camera that used AA batteries.
This does an excellent job of charging NiMH. Problem that I have with NiMH is that they "leak" charge when not being used.
It's a bummer to need to use a battery, and it's dead because it's been sitting for a couple of weeks.
Having better luck with specific item LiIon with chargers for stuff like the Wii.

If you're really serious about making a long term investment of rechargeable batteries:
Best prices for best low self discharge batteries (AccuEvolution) if you buy the starter kit which has 8 AAA + 4 AAs + 2 Cs + 2 Ds + one 9v.

The best price on the best NiMh charger (Ansmann Energy 8 model):

There are newer NiMH batteries such as POWEREX MH-4AAI-BH 2100mAh IMEDION that still have 85% charge left after sitting for a year.

La Crosse Technology BC-900 with batteries for $5 more than the one shown. Now THIS is a kick ass charger.
