I've got this model with OS X Leopard on it. Runs really well, VLC plays back everything but HD content. I can have VLC open, Firefox (I've always got a bunch of tabs open, 10 or so) and Mail without an issue. I haven't upgraded from my 1 GB of RAM yet either.

Still don't know how I would use one of these. Videos for the kids, reading email... seems too slow and small of a screen for anything else.

Can you upgrade the ram on this model, no options in customize? Also 8 GB SSD is cutting it close for OSX.

If your think of upgrading, buy the base model and do the upgrades yourself (mem+ssd). small keyboard and screen limit its usefulness, however. For small tasks and portability...

A refurbished D410/D420 from DFS is better than this one if you don't mind refurbish laptop. Full size keyboard, screen, faster CPU, larger Disk/RAM.

$219 for a 8.5 inch screen? You wish. When it is around $45, then I will consider buying it.
