Sounds like Amazon stopped shipping these for 2 weeks in October as quality issues were "reviewed". Apparently a large batch were going out bad...lots of returns. I was expecting to see "refurbished" in this ad...
BTW, it's also at Amazon for about $20 more at the moment.

Archos has always had "quality issues". Then you get bent over on all of the plugins. $20 here, $20 there & so on.

I gave up on Archos long ago. The device is not as awesome as the idea of having one. Plus, it's expensive with the additional costs such as plugins as #2 mentioned. WHY? Making more money off their customers. I would not recommend Archos. Get on apple itouch or whatever ever else.
