Don't matter what the burners cost. When the disks come down to a reasonable price, then these may become a good backup solution for the masses.

mak104: I bought mine for $179 + CA tax just three weeks ago, so yes, they appear to be dropping.

cablephil2001: You can now buy a 15-pack cakebox of Memorex 25GB disks at Fry's. After tax, that comes to $1.82 per disk. Not bad, and can only get lower.

These are e getting lower and lower from the $15 per disc they once were.

I'll buy this when the price per gb is the same as dvd's.

sony or whoever came up with blu ray should have really worked out an efficient way to make cheap media to foster adoption because at this rate they will be obsolete before they become cheap enough to become mainstream.

So does the media for this hyped cr@p cost less than a diamond encrusted gold d|ldo shoved up your @ss?

Tried Blu-Ray movies for a while via netflix. Meh.
Not worth the price premium.

had a ps3, watched a few blu-rays but did not find the quality to be that extra stunning compared to a good dvd. Sorry to say the whole thing is mostly hype to sell more new stuff.
