So how does this work? If you select in store pick up you avoid the shipping charge, if you have it shipped you don't pay taxes? Or do you pay taxes either way?

It's a good ceramic heater right in time before cold winter.
A little overpriced for heater but c'mon - it's from good brand.

That's true, unless it's a hooker or your wife, then who cares. Bitch gets paid either way.

and #1, since Sears has retail outlets in every state, you are going to have to pay taxes no matter what.

In rooms with low light levels, definitely, and usually for action movies and sports. With chick flicks where everyone just sits around crying in a puddle of tears, you should go with LCD.
I'd also recommend LCD if you're going to use the TV regularly as a computer monitor.

| Seriously, how many watts does this suck? |
Panasonic lists "on mode average power consumption" of 293W.
AKA right in-line with any similar-sized LCD near this price.

You have to pay sales tax if the company has a B&M store in your state.
I picked up this TV on the 6ave deal a couple of weeks ago. Great set and incredible deal considering the technology.
I'm still breaking it in, but so far looks great. The reds are a little intense for my taste, but I'm planning on calibrating it after the initial break in period. Anti-glare filter works great.
Check out the owners thread on avsforum.com. for good info on breaking in the set, and in-depth tweaks for picture quality.
