Of all the rebates I've ever sent in, I rarely received one earlier than 3 months. They usually took 4-5 months. I hate rebates just as much as the next guy, but you should know what you are getting into when you count on one.

DVDRW drives have been $25 and under w/o a rebate for quite a while now, getting one slightly faster but having to deal with a rebate only bringing it down to $20 this close to black friday is just not worth the time or money.

It comes with some kind of firmware where if you close the cd door with no cd in it, it autoruns something that asks you to install a program called "bluebirds" which is adware at best. Newegg was great and credited the money back to me and told me to throw the drive away or do whatever I wanted with it.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the price of shipping.

It comes with adware firmware called BlueBird which activates when you close the drive without a DVD/CD in (open links to LG products). You need to update the firmware to remove it:
