blank DVD-r media is ~25c per disc for 4.7GB.
This means that blu-ray storage is ~4X the cost of DVD-R.

Try harder #1. I've seen weekly deals for blu-ray media at Frys 15-pack for $25, that's < $1.7 per disc. Even at regular price of $40 it's < $2.7 per disc. It's not as bad as it used to be.

Blu-ray will find itself in Betamax heaven before long. Real men stream or plug their book drive right into the TV. Discs? Who wants to store discs? Gross.
