This is a piece of junk. I bought one, and I wasted 50 dollars because of it. It's great because you can play avi files and what not, but if you're buying it for the karaoke, then it's wholly unnecessary. It tries to combine two functions in one terribly. You're better off buying a high quality standalone karaoke machine for between $80-150 and linking up a computer to the tv via a TV-out.

Got one last year as a gift from my son in law and it is still working without any problem. The current model does look different compared to the one that I have. Called their CS and were told that this is a totally different model with different mechanism. Just scored two as Christmas gift.
