GoDaddy.com is offering free Private Registrations when you purchase one or more domains through 12/3. What this means is that your registration info is hidden, as opposed to open for the entire world to see through WHOIS.

It's on a sale at $4.99 now, but earlier (a month ago) it was $8.99. That's actually more than it costs for the domain name alone. I may jump on this.

FYI godaddy's shared hosting has been terrible for mysql stuff lately... I'm in the process of migrating several clients away... only problem is that all the other hosts I've used (FrogNet, Dotster, Brinkster, etc.) have all had consistency probs too... so maybe I'm not saying anything special, and besides, they're a half-way decent registrar, though I prefer DomainContender - $8/yr w/ a much cleaner interface and better support.
