These work pretty good as long as you use them right off the charger. The problem is that they self discharge in about 2-3 weeks if left unused. In other words they are fine for kids toys but useless for remote controls and flashlights.

These are really good rechargeables. I got mine on ebay with a 10-cell charger. I just leave them in the charger all the time.

"ready to use" is marketroid for "low-self-discharge hybrid separator material", which means they should still be good several weeks, or indeed months, after charging. They have to hold some charge during warehousing and shipping, after all, or they wouldn't be ready to use when you get them!

Tenergy cells are made in China but they get decent reviews. I don't know anything about their low-discharge offering, but this is an insane deal. I'm in for one.

Too bad they're only 1000 mAh though, I'd rather them be higher cap to use them with my camera.

Correction - Ben is showing the cheap fast drain version in his picture. The ones on the site are pretty good. They hold a charge quite a while.

    Sold out.

But the AA 2300mAh are available and the BF18 code takes off $3.22, bringing the total to $14.66 for a dozen.

These will not last long. You want to get 2500 or more, not the 1000 listed on these.

1000mAh for AAA is high capacity. Typical are 800-900mAh.

Will any NiMH charger work or do I have to buy the Tenergy charger?

Ordered the 2300MAH NiMH Rechargeable Batteries by Tenergy and the coupon worked like a charm. Thanks bigking777 for the lead.

These are decent, they are low self discharge, #1 is incorrect or thinking of the non-LSD cells. Not quite as good as Eneloops but at a fraction of the price much can be forgiven.

#15 you can use any otherwise-decent NiMH charger. IOW, don't use a dumb timer charger that charges higher than C/10 rate (100mA), though a Delta -V and temperature terminating charger is fine for higher charge rates.

12 pcs is a lot of AAA though, bigking777 found the better deal for most uses. Costco also has some decent LSD cell combo pack deals, in-store not online.
