I've been with 1&1 for a little over a year, and they've been very reliable (never been down). The speed is excellent (have surpassed 1 megaBYTE per second when downloading using GetRight). Like #16, I've seen others have horrrible experiences with them, but I'm not one of them.

Yeah.. I dont work for globat either, but i had a really good experience with them.
I bought the T03 Package, which was like ridiculous for personal use, but it was free, no rebate, just a $19.95 setup fee. I paid by paypal (When that was an option, just so they didnt have my cc just incase it was bad).
Anyways, i had 100% uptime. I never saw it go down, nor did anyone else. I had unlimited email accounts, never failed, spam protection was awesome.
Everything was 100% flawless and I generally downloaded at 800kb/s average, often over a mb/s (with comcast cable - chicago).
My package ran out and they auto-renewed the t03 package price (like $380 a year) and I called them and told them they dont even have that package. I said I assumed i wouldnt be charged it and then i told them i didnt have a credit card.. and they just canceled it for me and that was like 6 days after it had been auto-renewed. pretty simple.
Whatever though. i seems me and luezuve (#11) might be extremely lucky.
I think they might have known by my voice that im younger (only 18, now.. i was 17 when i bought the package) so maybe they would feel bad to try to pursue anything against me.
