This could really save me some money. Anyone have experience using this before?

Best Buy had something like this for $30 so this is a good find if your LCD TV does not have an HDMI input.

#3 - I'm with you in real likfew. But WTF can you use anything other than male-to-male with these cables other than extensions?

These are a great adapter to use if your TV either has no HDMI hookups, or like mine, if it doesn't have the three plugs (most new ones still have only two) to accommodate your DirecTV receiver, DVD player, and Xbox360 (or some similar setup).

The picture matches the straight HDMI one in quality. Keep in mind, though that with HDMI you are transmitting both sound and picture, while DVI is for digital picture only. When using DVI hookups, you need to use a separate (analog or digital) hookup for audio.

This works great connecting my PC to my Philips TV. The audio had to go to the stereo though.
