I hate Enterprise. They are one of the few car companies that will charge you for every minor ding in the car. I have always had trouble with them.
Quit dinging your cars.
#2, and how are you supposed to do that while in heavy traffic and another car kicks up a pebble at you?
Also, once I went on an easy trip where I did not see or hear any rocks hitting the hood of the car. Yet, when I returned it they accused me of a quarter sized ding. I picked up the car when it was very wet with beaded water all over it. I dropped it off at night via their key drop so it wasn't inspected when I dropped it off. Next morning they call and say I made the ding. Fortunately I complained to their corporate office and didn't have to pay. This was a company trip so I didn't have to pay personally but still had to fill out all the insurance paperwork if they hadn't backed off.
I now avoid issues with them by simply going with another company that isn't anal about these issues.
Enterprise doesn't charge disparity of value. That is enough for me to go with them and just get the cheap coverage that means any scratches mean nothing. Problem solved.
If you have an accident with other companies, they charge your insurance for the accident. You pay deductible and all is good. Then they charge you an amount that the car is now worth less because it has been crashed and fixed, the disparity value. Insurance doesn't cover this, so you are stuck with the bill of a couple grand, plus a $120 fee.
That is more than enough to go Enterprise in my mind. Just wish this was good till the 18th or 19th. Our honeymoon isn't over till a few days past the 15th.
Maybe it depends on the Enterprise office? We use them several times a year. We do the pre-inspection and the counter person walks around the car and writes down every little defect. When I bring it back they do the same thing. A couple of times they have found new dings or whatever but they have never charged us for any. They have offices off airport property so they not only have lower rates but we can avoid the extra 11% fees. The downside is they do not have cars will all the options and their cars tend to need cleaning, neither matter too much to me.
I've had the same experiences as #5. They are independently owned so some can obviously be better than others. But I remember always going over the car very carefully with them both before and after and they always told me they don't worry about the small marks.
I have rented from Enterprise about 20 times in the past 2 years, and have never experienced the problem that #1 reported. They are consistently the cheapest where I travel (mostly Las Vegas). Their customer service is over the top, actually kind of annoying sometimes (like they are trying too hard). Overall I would give them very high ratings.
I am on my 5th week from an accident on Easter Sunday that some guy hit my truck. My local office gave me a brand new truck and have visited me once for a glitch in the truck...Very pleasant and never had an issue....But usually the cars are not cleaned well and, as a detailer...they need work in that area. Otherwise good people and practices at my local office. Happy here:)
