    Sold out.....I remember paying $500 for a 30 meg drive in 1986.....who would have thought a disc that can hold 25 gigs would be this cheap....sigh...

    Remember back then got my Tandy 1000 destop that don't do much. Just to say own a desktop. I don't even use these, But bought one just because I know it will sell out..

    ^ Though I don't generally hoard things, I still have a few spindles of CDRs I got off Ben's free after rebate a few years back. It made sense at the time because I also gained a few free after rebate CDRW drives.

    It's a shame DVDRW drives never became FAR when BD replaced DVD, like CDRW did when DVDRW came out.

    As far as 30MB drives for $500, I think Tandy 1000 pre-dates that a bit, as that capacity per $ was around the 80286 era, IIRC.
