I'm just gonna start stun gunning the air like this and walking towards you. If you get hit, it's your own fault

Better to be in court judged by 12 than be in a casket carried by 6.

PSA: Stun guns are not considered entirely non-lethal and are increasingly becoming recognized as only less lethal than actual guns. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to shoot someone with it, be prepared to live with the consequences of killing someone.

#12 may be confusing a stun gun with a taser. Stun guns don't shoot. They just shock on contact. Are these as potentially lethal as a taser?

#13 Stunguns have the same disabling mechanism as tasers except for the lack of projectile capabilities.

Yes either is potentially lethal, though it is unlikely if used as directed. There is a greater potential for the stun gun to not be used as directed because it can recharge several times and be fired while the taser will eventually run out its gas cartridge and need darts reloaded (and they're expensive).

Using the same circuit a stun gun is more likely to deliver a higher voltage if it nearly touches bare skin because it doesn't have the impedance of the wires.

However, it depends on the situation. Hand to hand it might be easier to touch bare skin in the winter with the stun gun than to shoot the taser darts through outer clothing till they get close enough to skin to arc the gap, and if the darts do hit skin you typically have a larger path for the current so it effects the body more, assuming you were standing a few feet away so you get some spread between the darts.

On the other hand, odds are slim you'd find the exact same circuit in a stun gun so it is apples/oranges. When in doubt, use both. Wink
