I have been brain washed by Monster Cables so instead I will go out to Best Buy and buy a $99 gold-plated super high-grade quality HDMI cable. Smile

HDMI is HDMI, you don't need special cables to get 1.3 and you certainly don't need expensive or gold plating.

This price is actually not too bad though.

#7 - your TV - DVD/BR player does not have gold plated connector inside. All the components are soldered with tin.
It does not matter much by using $ cable or $$$ cable....

I guess my "brain washed" statement and that little happy face icon that I made are not obvious enough to imply sarcasm.

Funny how it says that the cables are free. Any normal person would know that there is either a rebate or some type of shipping charges which you have to pay so essentially it is not really FREE.

short cable lengths < 15m, yes, there is no significant difference between inferior cable manufacturers and premium cables. but once you reach longer lengths, moderately priced cables from well-known vendors are recommended since they most likely manufacture cables to within spec required for transmitting a signal over longer distances with lower attenuation
