If they are like the one I got for my parents they don't work on digital converters
For those that have never seen these remotes, they are 11" x 5". They are HUGE, GIANT, AND LOTS OF OTHER WORDS IN ALL CAPS.
It would almost be kinda fun to have one of these, except the button layout is absolutely terrible. There's no proper directional pad, but the remote does have two record buttons (?).
I'm in for a 2 pack just so I can hijack the Sharp LCD hanging on the wall at work by my desk.. I CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH HEADLINE NEWS AND THEIR 10 MIN NEWS CYCLE EACH DAY!
what's funny to me, isn't the size - it's that only old people would really want these. And they're for sale ONLINE! and on WOOT no less. I'm sure only 40yr olds are buying these for Aunt Margeret and Gramma.

You could wear one around your neck like Flava Flav's clock.
These are kind of funny as gag gift or just general silliness. Very hard to lose them. I got some for my parents (maybe not the same mfg) but they were kind of crappy. Some buttons had to be pressed very hard, others did not function at all. The remote was still usable though, but they didn't keep it around for very long.
Maybe you can use them as extraordinarily large coasters?
