It should note that when the receiver snaps into the mouse it turns the mouse off to conserve battery power. This is a nice feature if you are used to the older logitech laptop mice that have the on/off switch on the underbelly.

#3 I think this comes in other colors, but this sale appears to be on the plain old gray one.

what is the warranty on this?
microsoft RMAs are the best I have ever experienced. All you do is call the 1800 number, tell them your s/n and bam! your new mouse its on the way. the bad side of is that this system can and will be abused frequently.

I had the prior version of this mouse (4000) and after a year the USB connector developed loose connections, such that you had to plug it in and then wiggle it to get it to work. Maybe the 5000 is sturdier.

I bought this mouse new for around $30 a couple of years ago. I use it with my laptop almost daily, am happy with it's performance and have only had to switch out the battery maybe once every 6 months.
