BuyDig.com has the Sandisk SDHC 8GB Digital Card on sale for $35 each. Buy two for $70 - $50 rebate [Exp 1/17/09] = $20 with free shipping. This is the Sandisk videoHD line, which is supposedly better for using in digital camcorders. [BizRate]

Well, maybe the cards are optimized for writing large files, and they can only rate them a class 4 since the writing of small files is much slower.

Or it could just all be a marketing ploy.

#4 a 2 hour DVD movie requires less memory and the LACK of artifacts is amazing. If you are referring to a 1080P camcorder, then you probably need more memory and speed. That being said, I think it's a marketing ploy.

FWIW, I just got a $160 rebate back from Sandisk (in the form of a Visa debit card). Very fast return, actually.
