#17's post is based on assumptions.
When those drives were sold at 85 they had the .11 firmware. #17 happily assumes that those were good just because his drive is working good so far.

#20, $85 was a price mistake. Are you saying that we should wait until these drives drop to 85 just cos' someone accidentally came up with that number once? You could wait until it's $30, that's even cheaper..

I bought two for the same price two weeks ago. They're both up and running great... so far.

Same here, which I'd bought 2 then...didn't realize the price was going to go up and stay there this long!

""Few months back Dell sold this drive for $85."

    Yep, me too. Great drive.""

Why would you wait until black friday again, this is a good deal if you trust Seagate, and you will have mirrored data now for only $30 more.

I've had Seagate drives fail on me (including a fairly recent 1.5TB drive with newer firmware), but I still went ahead and purchased two of these two packs.

Dell only sold this drive for an hour and a half at $85. It was a mistake and they immediately raised the price to $115.

Good deal, I would spend the extra bucks and go for the 7200.12, they fixed all the bugs both firmware and hardware.

Seagate needs to have their hands slapped for turning out bad drives. Even if they've fixed the problem I won't buy a 7200.11 drive.

seems like a nice deal. if you really need to wait to get them $30 cheaper, you probably need a different job....

#31 is spouting off nonesense. The drive was up for about 1 da. I ordered long after it first appeared--- BUT, don't recall where I first saw it, could have been the Fat Wallet or sl@ck deals that sometimes get ripped to here long after.

As for firmware, apart from bubblegum heads, it takes about 5 min to flash a firmware update. Anyway, contrary to #21's, drug induced hallucinations, the firmware was up to date, the drives and the drives fine.

This price is ok, but based on the collapsing price of 1TB's it seems fair to project $81 again within 1-3 mos. We shall see.
