If you want an old pos that Dell is debating scrapping, this is your solution. If you install windows 3.1 they will run crazy fast.

These computers are awesome deals. I got a Latitude D420 ultraportable on the last sale they had and love it. If I can find a good Optiplex 330 or 745 for a good price, I'm getting it.

I agree with #4. I got a D420 through pacificgeek (check it out if you are interested in this dell stuff) for $319 and I love it. It still has 520 days of warranty left!

For the computers that have no OS, can I just use a Dell OEM Windows Install CD like this one?

@#6 AFAIK, *any* Dell OEM disk will install on any Dell computer. I just took the XPSP3 disk from a Lat E6500 (new model) and used it on my personal Inspiron 700m (4 yrs old).

    How are these deals?
For god's sakes ! A p4 for $193 ???? Give me a break! Look on craigslist, people have been trying to sell P4's for 40-50 bucks without any luck for months.
And those outdated laptops that belong in the trash can for ~300 ??? are those for real ?

Dell gets these PC's free from customers who buy new pc's by sending them the recycling carton upon request ( during customization of your new pc ) .. then they turn around and sell our own machines back to us for 30% off msrp of the latest machines, after running this one command "format c:" what a ripoff!
