I have this one. There is no adapter for the various types of batteries, just a big spring... I have a AA in it and it works intermittently. I have to hit it to work properly... Also, they show it in stock but when you get the other parts of the order they hand write that the rest is back ordered and will be shipped from HK. I ended up waiting for 3 weeks to get it....
but #2 bought it from an online store in the USA... and they said it as in stock. why would #2 even care if it is normal to take 3 weeks to ship from HK?
I don't see the point in the AAA/123A adapter. Runtime will truely suck on AAA, and a decent AA light will take 14500 too instead of 123A.
Bottom line - this is a way better light than most of the cheap ones Golden Gadgets sells, but it's nothing special once you get into the $10-20 price range and higher (brighter) binned LEDs than the P4 like the Q(n) or R(n) Crees, but if you really care about brightness you will need more than 1 x AA to get there with more than an few dozen minutes of runtime.
Akoray Cree Q5-WC is a better torch, but this one includes some sort of adapter for an AA/AAA or 123A battery. Don't leave home without it!

3 weeks for an order to arrive from HK is normal.
#3,

If you pay the shipping fee they might ship from a CA warehouse.
If you choose the free shipping it comes direct from HK, 2-3 weeks.
Yes, lots of their stuff is direct ship from HK.
