I had one of these. It was so noisy I threw it away.
The big 50250 is noisy, but for certain one of the best HEPA filters on the market (Cons Reports #1 for 4 years). This one is special because it has a PERMANENT filter - most others need a new $80 filter every 6 months. Some love the noise for sleeping, but I myself use foam earplugs and it's wonderful.
No more snoring either. You will wonder how you lived without one. This is also the best price ever (usually around $189).
#2, while you can vac away loose particles from the 50250's filter, it doesn't seem to be permanent so to retain its effectiveness it too will need replaced at some point (over and over).
