Appears to be rabbit fur. Some cats go bonkers, eventually tearing the skin off after playing with it for hours. Some totally disinterested. We got ours at walmart years ago, have a few left over, and occasionally find a sample under a piece of furniture, having been batted out of reach by one of the cats.
