There we go.. This is more like it. Good price, and a reputable seller. Finally.

    DVD-DL backup: $0.13/Gb, slow, not re-writable
HDD backup: ~$0.065/Gb, much faster, re-writable

and HDD takes less space Smile

Sam's Club has the 50 pack spindle for $61.24 and they are the Made in Singapore version. Yes, a little more expensive, but from a known source and a known MFG plant. I have found that the Made in India ones don't read as well in drives other than the one in which the data was written and this was with data files only.

These are more reliable than Memorex. I get coasters from Memorex, but have never had a bad DL from Verbatim.

a bit off topic, but do new 360 games require a newer firmware on console to read the discs? I haven't burned a game in a while.

Depends on how much you need to back up #2. The HDD price is not linear.

    +1 on what #6 said.

I concur #6, skip the Memorex crap. These are the discs to use. If you check the dye code on these you'll find they're the same as the Verbatim DataLife Plus DVDs. But stick with these 2.4x DL Verbatims - if you try to go up to the 8x Verbatim DLs, many of those are coming out of India now, not Singapore, and the quality isn't the same.
