Beware, this has a power problem. I bought mine off Macmall about 1 month ago and I could not shut down my Viewsonic LCD. I read about the power problem on buy.com reviews, thought it was an isolated incident. Save your time and buy that olivea LCD, seems to be more reliable. Luckly Macmall did take it back.( They dont have to, read the fine print above 27 inches for internet places)

My parents got this a month back. They live in another state so I haven't seen it. Problem is, they don't know how to make it display the OTA DTV channels. Anybody have this who can provide an explanation for tuning OTA DTV channels that 65+ year old technophobes can understand?

Have them go to www.avsforum.com. Those geeks know everything about LCD TV's. Have them search on the model TV and see what comes up. If the answer isn't there tell them to register and post a question (No Charge). They usually will get back to you with an answer within the day.

    What #1 was talking about:
    TELEVISION RETURNS:

Returns of televisions 27 inches or larger are subject to the following restrictions:

+ Upon delivery, please inspect the television carefully for damage while the shipper is still present. If you discover any damage, please refuse delivery and you will receive a refund of the purchase price, shipping and handling fees, and sales taxes (if any). You must sign the shipper's release form which acknowledges this return policy.
+ If, after delivery, the television does not work, all returns, in-house servicing (if applicable), and warranty repairs are handled exclusively by the manufacturer. Televisions 27 inches or larger cannot be returned to MacMall.
+ You can obtain copies of warranties through MacMall, or directly from the manufacturer.

OTA antenna (this is for the 37", btw) = "menu" left or right to "tuner" down to "tv tuner settings" right to get drop down menu, then down to "tv mode" and then left for "air" or right to go back to "cable".

pain in the ass to switch back and forth.

now, anyone know the button to get the dash in "7-1"?

#5 - As far as I know the official syntax for digital channels is with "." IE. 7.1

yeah, none of the stupid buttons on the remote does either "." or "-". havent seen alot of support from viewsonic on their products. either their tvs or their remotes could use some firmware upgrades...
