Connecticut is investigating complaints that Best Buy tried to trick customers into paying full price for items that were supposed to be on sale. Best Buy says store employees just made a mistake.
Time to boycott BB

Dishonest Company I am going to tr to avoid it. Example if I have to buy a Gift Card I am going to go to Circuit City.

As a resident of Ohio, I have yet to come across too many issues with BB. Luckily I live close enough to Pittsburgh, PA that I rarely have to deal with just BB. In the Burgh, I have at least 10 big box "LIKE" electronic stores to choose from. Many of the independants will match those that advertise.
But it will definately be a rough ride for BB if this news goes national and not just regional.

I recently made two purchases fro Best Buy. Got exceptional service both times.
First - I bought my father-in-law a Toshiba DLP set at a Best Buy in DE (I live in CA). After two weeks he decided he didn't like the Toshiba and wanted a similar Samsung. BB took the Toshiba back without a peep and gave us full credit towards the Samsung (which he loves).
Second - Fry's had a Sony KDS-55A2000 (DLP TV) on sale that I had been eyeing. Was a closeout because the new model was about to come out (KDS-55A2020). Went to Best Buy to get a price match.
When the set was delivered a week later, it was the NEW model (the 2020).
So Best Buy matched a closeout price from a competitor on a soon to be discontinued model, and then sent me the newer model.
I think they are great!

Best Buy customer service has gone downhill ever since Microsoft took over their distribution and installation outsourcing. Several regional managers have quit over the years because it's not about the customer service anymore.
The key to dealing with Best Buy is to have a preferred manager you always deal with. So when something goes wrong -- and trust me, it always does -- you can get someone's ear. Otherwise, don't bother, they just aren't worth it.
