The title alone is the biggest pile of puke I’ve ever seen. What the fuck is this? The my little pony of credit cards. Im sure everyone gets 4.9% interest when you have a credit limit of $300. The only reason to have one is if you travel overseas. pork me American Express

    #5 I had the costco/amex card.
the rebate is UP TO 1% which really means it is 0.25% unless you spend a huge amount on it.
Then they send you a check that can ONLY be redeeemed at costco and it expires in approx 60 days.
When I went to costco I would forget to bring it so they kept my $3.16.

At costco they now take ATM cards and you can even get extra cash back! They also take personal checks if you have a costco card.

not worth dealing with amex IMO.

amex cards are the best. I have a lot amex cc cards like amex student card, blue, blue cash, business and starwood card. As Ben mentioned, this is a basic card. For this card, you got points for every dollar you spent and you can redeem the points to gift certificate. For me, I always get a $25 staple gc when I have 2500 points. Second, if you rent cars once a while, the card provide free insurance for the cars. Uaually, that is over $10+ a day. Last, if you purchase with the card, it provides extra one year warranty beside the original manufacturer warranty. And it also provides price protection within certain period. Not to mention, you can always ask to increase creditline online. I have increase my creditline from $2500 to $20000 in two years. Overall, this is a great basic card.

There's different versions of the blue card. If you want cash back instead of points, and if you spend a lot, the blue cash rebate one can be pretty good. You can earn 5% at gas stations & grocery stores & drug stores(1% at others) without the $300 rebate limit like Citibank. *But*, you have to spend $6500 before you're elegible for the 5% (you get 1/2% for the first $6500).

Unlike the Costco card, the rebates are applied to your account.
