Learned last year that the bluish light given off by white LEDs is very attractive to bugs. The yellower cast from a ratty old incandescent was the only light in camp without a cloud of skeeters hovering around it, so we set up the LEDs as decoys some distance away, and used incandescents for our after-dark activities.
watch out for this one, I bought one a few weeks ago and it was nothing but a big disappointment. When the battery is low, the unit flickers 10 times worse than florescent lights of the 1950s. It works very good with new batteries, but the life of the battery is much much shorter than what they advertise.
I used one of these on a camping trip last year, and it is BRIGHT AS baconnaise. Almost blinding if you turn it on inside a tent.
