$48 for a bike!!! awesome.
This woman's bike is perfect for the homid australopithecus (who has created hundreds of molested IDs) to ride from his job at McDonald's to his home at the garbage dump.
Solid, reliable bike. Don't listen to all these other douche bags.
Bought one for my daughter for Christmas. The box came to Walmart pretty mangled. I am hoping everything inside is intact. I'll find out this weekend when I assemble it.
Not bad transportation for college use and it's not a heartbreaking financial loss when it eventually gets stolen.
I wonder if you couldn't get a better one from Craig's list for this price.
Mountain Fury?? Really? Don't think so
Can someone with experience with Wal-Mart bikes tell me if they actually feel stable while riding? The one that I tried did not. Thanks.
#5 is right on.
#7 The Mountain Fury is awesome! I've owned this bike (mens) for years, it's a great beater bike.
I think they need to stop calling a $48 bike with knobbies and front suspension a "mountain bike". If anybody ever tried to ride this thing on a trail, they'd be dead meat. HOWEVER....good starving student transportation.
How very original, milf_hunter. Unfortunately I no longer spend too much time here, so you'll have to continue copying/pasting my old stuff.
What makes it a women's bike?
This bike must be fairly heavy for only $49 however the reviews for it seem pretty good.
It is good, basic, on-road transportation for a few thousand miles. It won't last as long, you won't go as fast, you won't be able to get many replacement parts, compared to entry level bike shop bikes.
However, a pair of tires for a bike can easily cost this much so the real question is, does it need to go off-road, and do you need to get from point A to B as fast as possible if it costs over 4X as much.
Mainly, don't dare ride it until you have someone you trust go over it and make any required adjustments. Throwaway bikes are mainstream now like throwaway everything, it's easy to poo-poo this but how many downplay a VCR, TV, etc, if it's essentially going to work until it fails and not be worth fixing when that happens.
Point is, this is a starter bike. If you're not committed to riding a few dozen miles a week or more, abaconn already doing it, not just idealizing it, most people will end up suffering more depreciation on what they buy than what this costs.
On the other hand, a good bike lasts several years, a few dollars a year is not so much to spend on higher quality. If you're just trying to get across the border then the choice is clear.
