Is Sony running out of HD movies to sell? This steam pile looked bad enough VCR'ed from my uncle's 1985 bootlegged cable...I mean, it came out the same year as Star Wars!
You guys do all realize that pretty much every movie shot on film, no matter how old, is still way beyond the resolution that BluRay could ever hit, right? Just because a movie is old doesn't mean it won't look better on BluRay than it would on VHS or DVD...
...it's not the film quality, it's the film's production quality...some things are best left grainy, hazy and uncertain...like last night at the bar down the street...

Excellent point - the best Blu-Ray I've yet seen is the new BR release of "Casablanca" (in B/W). Absolutely amazing!

The devil is in the details.
Just because a magnetic tape has more granularity than present-day HD video, that doesn't mean they are using a tape reader with higher resolution rather than upsampling.
However there is something to be said for the precision of digital editing filters when applied to something they already upsampled rather than using them at a lower resolution then having your TV or playback device upsample it.
Oh yeah Logan's Run with cigarette lighter ray guns in Blu-Ray that should be impressive.
The robot at the end really scared me.
Terminator Salvation is worth the 6 bucks.
More proof that HD-DVD is winning the format war.
"There is no sanctuary!"
Logan's run... ah, yes. First boobs I ever saw on the big screen. I jizzed myself.

Haven't seen Terminator Salvation yet but it might be worth $6

NO! Don't go in there! You don't have to die! No one has to die at 30! You could live! LIVE! Live, and grow old! I've seen it!
