Dump $300 on a GTX580 is that a joke... either a GTX670 or a 7970, even if you have to add 20% to that price means you're ahead of the game in FpS and the energy while doing it. A GTX580 performance/watt is just so ugly it has no value today.
I thought I saw something this morning that Newegg is going to have a Gigabyte 7970 3GB tripple fan for like $350.

At 1920x a GTX580 would be right between the standard 7870 1Gz and the 7870 Tahiti LE. Considering somthing like the Sapphire 100354XTL Radeon HD 7870 XT (Tahiti LE) w/Boost 2GB is right now $235 -AR $15 w/FS and the Free Bioshock & Tomb Raider game coupons.

Here's something to contemplate... A GTX660Ti like a Tahiti LE is about 6% faster than this GTX580, and Nvidia still has GTX660Ti at between $275-290 most often. Just the pricing of what is a third tier GK104 "gelding" and the die size reduction of almost 50% from a GF110, tells me Nvidia has pricing "out-of-whack" on GTX660Ti not to mention the lower PCB costs.

Best Buy is the B&M option you use if something failed and you need a box back up ASAP without the wait for delivery of an online order, and/or the rapid shipping option causes the online price to be no lower than at BB. That is, if you don't have Frys or another local merchant to choose from.
