Easily the best/quietest hard drive I've ever owned.

Had four Samsung 80gb hard drives which I purchased from CompUSA. One I used for storage so it got almost no use. The other three developed over 100 bad sectors in well under a year.
That is cause for concern from me. What may have been an issue is that they were sold in hard plastic "bubble" cases, LOOSE inside cardboard boxes (with the name "Connect" as the manufacturer, though the label on the HD showed that they were, in fact, Samsung). Every time the box was moved, the hard drive would then get thrown around inside the box - a very poor packaging decision.
BTW, CompUSA has been atrocious in their behavior regarding two of the extended warranties. I'll probably give details later. The short of it is that they've refused to honor two of the extended warranties.
If you know anything about their extended warranty policy, this is something they CANNOT justify. This is probably the reason that though I've made phone calls to over a half dozen CompUSA representatives, NO ONE has returned ONE SINGLE phone call in the past two to three weeks. How's that for customer service?
...and I'm the guy who (under another nym) used to say that CompUSA was cleaning up their act. Shows what I know...
Give Office Depot your business if you want to go retail. They have much higher integrity.

#2, I'm confused. If the drives failed in less than a year then why are you dealing with CompUSA? Most Samsung drives come with a three year warranty, why aren't you dealing with them?
