This is crazy. I don't think you can find use for 280 batteries.

Exactly, how long do you finish 280 batteries ? A year or two, right ? Laughing

I can't see anyone going thru 280 batteries in a year or 2.....if so you should be using rechargables.

But you can mix and match! So grab 6 AA's and 4 AAA's.

Hate to sound like the proverbial dirty hippie but if you're even using half this amount of batteries a year you should really think about rechargables. I have kids too and all the toys that go with them, rechargables work just as good, if not better, than throw away alkalines.

New NYC laws state that alkaline batteries can't be thrown out in the trash. They must be recycled. Hopefully they'll pass this law everywhere soon.

Get recharageables. Eventually they'll pay for themselves.

Thomas-distributing is my favorite place for rechargeables. Pick up a LaCrosse BC-900 while you're there.

Seriously, the only reason to be using alkalines is if you're giving them away, say, in promo flashlights or something. Otherwise, you'll come out better environmentally AND financially with rechargeables.

Don't forget batteries don't usually expire for like 8 years - you should be able to use 280 batteries by 2013.
