Their shipping calculator used to be fuxxed up, charging significantly more than twice as much to ship two speakers instead of one. Now that it has been corrected, calc shows $14 (YMMV) shipping for a pair which is very reasonable.

i'm pretty sure these are a newer version of the old r30's. if they are anything like the r30's they sound great. the r30's lacked deep bass so you will need a sub but polk's entry level speakers are excellent bang for the buck. my whole HT system was put together with the old r series and it sounds incredible.

They're basically a variant of the R30's that are, as Jma9 said, Polk's entry level speaker series but definitely are very good bang for the buck.
You won't be disappointed.
