It's kinda cool and it's cheap for what it is, but I don't see who would have any use for it in 2010...

I still don't get it. Do you just plug this into a headphone jack and it shows up to the computer as a recording device, like a sound card?
In other words, it does look so wrong, as I apparently don't know enough about the iPod nano. Could someone point me at more info?
