Some say that hispanic toners work better than black toners.

Buy one cartridge, then a 4-pack of bulk toner off ebay/etc. Total cost about the same, but 5 carts worth of toner. Since you have two cartridges you can have one waiting full of toner when the other in the printer gets empty, and two refills per cart is about what you might expect to attain (at least with OEM carts, I've no idea if these have same quality parts like the drum and seals).

Even so, 3 for $49 is a good price too.

HPs are a royal pain in the ass to fill. They covered the plug with a plastic lever that you have to tear apart the whole assembly to get to. The only practical way is to drill a hole. Far easier just to buy the carts, especially at this price.

Huh? Drilling a hole is easier and faster than ordering more cartridges, and greener, cheaper too.

Took about 30 seconds to drill a hole in any printer/cartridge I've ever done that to, most of that time being time to change from one drill bit to the other size I wanted in the drill.

As for taking the assembly apart to save some money refilling it yourself, so what? Aren't we here also spending time to save some money looking for cartridge deals? Probably no more than a few minutes in total to take it apart, even less once you've done it the first time so you know exactly how to.

Last time I bought toner I also bought what basically amounts to a soldering iron with a 3/4" piece of copper tube on it. It melts a 3/4" hole in the plastic w/o any cutting needed. Works like a charm - very neat hole.

Just received the 3 toner carts from SuperMediaStore.com on this deal and the first one started grinding and squeaking after only about 100 pages of printing. Loud enough sound to wake the dead across town. Afraid it's going to ruin my printers gears or drive motor mechanism. Not sure I would recommend these guys. They have a defective item return policy that clearly states I have to pay return freight, which makes me wish I hadn't bought from SuperMediaStore.com. But YMMV (hopefully).
