This offer is from "Verizon Landline" not "Verizon Wireless".

There was a story in the SF Examiner about this this morning. There's fine print in the deal that says you authorize Verizon to rip out your existing copper wiring and replace it with the fiber optic line. Problem is that when/if you want to switch back you're boned because you have no more copper line.

I took a look. Let me see, $69.69 for your first PC and $75 for the second. I guess a third would go for about $125. This sounds about right from the same company that has been offering crappy cellphone service for ages, charging extra for SMS, calling during the daytime, talking more than so many minutes per month, calling customer service too often, using a color screen in your cell phone, etc. Put these yo-yo's in charge of my Internet?

this service is actually excellent if you're already using verizon wireless and verizon for your home phone. Comcast is expensive with shoddy service and horrible customer service.

#4 is a Dee-di-di. in NYC, Verizon Cell phones are the best service wise. Their DSL is good in terms of reliability, cheap, but yes slow. and if you don't know how to split internet connections, you are def a dee-di-di.

verizon fios is great, especially when paired with their cable tv package. usually cheaper than time warner's internet + tv package. not only that but fios is usually faster than time warner for less money.

Note it's $30 only for months 2-7, then goes up to $40.

I hate it when they do that...

They only take down your copper drop wire. If you want to switch back to copper(why?, I don't know) you can call them and they will reinstall your copper drop wire. It's only fiber to the house, not inside.

I would get it for the 6 months, then just cancel. But not available by me in NYC. The reign of Time Warner continues. When will the monopoly end!?Sad
